We Cub Scouts meet every Saturday afternoon. We look back on our shared experiences all week long and eagerly await the next Saturday. The highlight of the summer is spending a week together at a camp. Children of this age are keen to explore and have new experiences. They are trusting, enthusiastic and usually act on their feelings and instincts. At this age, children have boundless imaginations: they act out stories and situations they have read, seen or made up. “Miis Bescht”(My best) – “Euses Bescht" (Our best” Saturday afternoon becomes the highlight of the week for around 40 children. As well as hunting for hidden treasures, we chase robbers or, as detectives, follow a hot lead. In the Cub Scout group, children learn to live together in a group and to interact with nature in a responsible way. We are prepared for all weather conditions and, where possible, always try to run our programme outdoors. Rainwear and suitable footwear are essential. The Cub Scout group is open to children in Years 2 to 4. If you’re not sure, you’re welcome to come along for an afternoon and see what it’s like before you decide.
