In the Pioneer section, young people are encouraged to broaden their understanding of themselves, others and the world through new experiences. They are given the opportunity to give free rein to their ideas and plans, to play an active role in shaping their programme and to take on increasing amounts of responsibility. By adhering to the guiding principles of Scouting, the programme remains balanced and varied.
